Cherry pie.
Line the dish with a good crust and fill with ripe cherries, regulating the
quantity of sugar you scatter over them by their sweetness. Cover and bake. Eat
cold with sugar sifted over the top.
Mock mince pie.
One egg, 3 or 4 crackers, half cup molasses, half a cup sugar, half cup vinegar,
half a cup strong tea, 1 cup chopped raisins, a piece of butter. Bake.
