How different foods digest.
It is always best to take breakfast about one hour after rising; say, anywhere
between five a. m. and nine a. m.; dinner between twelve m. and two p. m., with
a light tea or supper between five and eight p. m.; and one should not go to bed
at once after supper; nor should one take any active exercise immediately after
dinner. As to what is best to eat or drink, almost everything provided as food
for man, properly prepared, is good in moderation, and every thinking person
should so practice it. However, some food takes longer to digest than others, as
shown by appended memorandum of those most commonly used:
